Background
Matt joined Austin Wealth Management in 2021 from The Wealth Consulting Group, an independent RIA based in Las Vegas, where he served as Director of Research & Trading. During his time there, he was charged with building and eventually leading the firm’s investment department.
Matt started his professional career in 2008 as a relationship manager for United Capital Financial Advisers of Las Vegas where he was fortunate to learn the importance of planning early. As a relationship manager, he was responsible for managing the development, delivery, and implementation of a client’s financial plan and asset allocation strategy.
Matt was born in Rochester, NY but was raised and spent most of his life in Las Vegas, NV. Having sufficiently forgotten the harsh winters of his early childhood, Matt ventured back to the Northeast to attend Syracuse University where he majored in international relations. Matt discovered his passion for investing during his junior year of college and never looked back. While his degree serves him well particularly with the seemingly rising influence of geopolitics in markets, his knowledge in the world of finance and economics has all come from rigorous self-study including completion of the CFA curriculum. Matt, at his core, is a student of the markets and history.
Matt currently resides in Lexington, KY with his wife, their new baby girl, and two dogs. Over the years, he’s learned that maintaining balance in life and away from the screens only benefits his craft. To that end, he loves spending time with family, traveling, and being outdoors.
